The starting point for most skaters will be the Learn to Skate Classes run by Caribbean Rollerama. This will be your introduction to basic skating skills and will teach you the fundamentals you need before beginning your artistic journey.
Some of the skills you will learn (and need) will include:
Skating confidently both forwards and backwards
Safely stopping using different techniques
Balancing on each foot while rolling
Transitioning from forwards to backwards while rolling
Basic jumping and spinning skills

Every Carribbean Rollerama learn to skate class has at least one CRSC coach or skater instructing.
Once you have a grasp of the fundamental skills above, you will be able to discuss transitioning from the rink-run classes to joining and skating with the Caribbean Roller Skating Club. Each skater will be assessed on their merits. Our friendly and experienced coaches will be there to guide and support you to reach your goals.
If you used to be an artistic skater or have been skating for a while and have mastered the above skills it would still be a good idea to come down to the rink during one of the Learn to Skate Classes. You can have a chat with one of our coaches and they can assess where you are at on your skating journey. Alternatively, get in contact with us and tell us a bit about yourself.
